Team members are selected based for their abilities and knowledge, combined with availability--and not necessarily based upon their ability to collaborate. The Project Manager may not know any of them before the first project meeting, yet he or she must motivate them to work hard on a challenging project that may be supplemental and distracting from their regular work. The Project Manager must build trust and espirit de corps. This seminar begins the journey to working teams. What do you do at your first team meeting? Smith Jeff has worked for Project Management University as a faculty member and Dean of Curriculum in producing online, collaborative courses in Project Management for the Life Sciences industry. Based in Peoria, Illinois, he has over 20 years experience in project management, including six years as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for Caterpillar Inc. He has led projects that have changed business projects affecting thousands of engineers, IT personnel, product support people, purchasing, and logistics. Jeff has an MBA from Bradley University.
